Adrian’s Obituary Adrian Van Hofwegen, age 95 of Sioux Center, IA died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2019 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Carl Klompien officiating.

Burial will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be directed to missions.

Adrian Van Hofwegen was born November 16, 1923 in Hawarden, IA to Dick and Cora (Faber) Van Hofwegen. He received his education in country school and was raised near Lebanon, IA. He enlisted in the United States Coast Artillery Corps.

He was united in marriage to Ellen Cuperus and to this marriage four children were born. Adrian farmed and milked cows by Colton, SD for many years. In the mid 70’s he moved to Artesia, CA where he started a lawn mowing business.

He later moved back to Sioux Center to retire and be near his family. Church was important to Adrian. He served where he could as elder, deacon, Sunday schoolteacher and had a pension for missions.

He later moved to Royale Meadows where this past Tuesday he passed away at the age of 95. He loved his children and will be greatly missed. Adrian is survived by his daughter, Noella (Ed) Haveman of Hull, IA; daughter-in-law, Sharleen Van Hofwegen of Colton, SD; daughter, Bonnie (Phil) De Stigter of Sioux Center, IA; and daughter, LuAnn De Wild of Hull, IA; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Case, Dick, Arie, John, Herm, Mart, Bob and Carl; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Pete; granddaughter, Stacey; son-in-law, Eldon De Wild; brothers, Marinus and Bill; sisters, Kryna Rozeboom and Liz Fluit.
