Alan L. Wiechart age 81 of Garrett, IN died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. Alan was born August 14, 1937 in Lima, OH to Cletus and Margaret (Harter) Wiechart.

Alan married Connie K. (Tuttle) Yarian on March 10, 2001 in Garrett. Alan was a utility driver at B.F. Goodrich – retiring in 1993 after 32 years. Alan was a U.S. Army veteran – serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Alan was a member of the Church at Garrett and the Garrett American Legion Post #178 Alan is survived by his wife: Connie (Tuttle) Yarian Wiechart, Garrett, IN; son: Alan G. (Lorie)Wiechart, Garrett, IN; step son: Darin (Sara) Yarian, Hudson, IN; step daughter: Kristi Ellis, Avilla, IN; step son: Kenneth Cousino, Garrett, IN; step daughters: Diane Jordan, Auburn, IN; Mary Ann Traster, Garrett, IN; Catherine Creech, Roanoke, IN. , 8 grandchildren: Chelsea Wolpert, Ft. Wayne, IN; Cassidy Wiechart, Ft.

Wayne, IN; Aaron Gideon, Spiceland, IN; Alan Gideon, New Castle, IN; Cassidi Phelps, New Castle, IN; Carli Phelps, Indianapolis, IN; Christina Yarian, Hudson, IN and Rebecca Yarian, Hudson, IN Alan was preceded in death by his first wife: Lou Wiechart; parents: Cletus ad Margaret Wiechart; step daughter – Lori Phelps; step son: Dennis Cousino. Services will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN with pastor Tom Wilcoxson from the Church at Garrett officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery – rural Garrett, IN with military honors by the United States Army and the Garrett American Legion Post #178.

Memorials are to the Church at Garrett, Garrett American Legion Post #178 or the American Lung Association.
