Obituary for Alan P. Zeller MALTA – Alan P. Zeller, 79, of Malta Gardens, died Friday, Jan 4th at home, after an extended illness. Born in Albany, March 3, 1939, son of the late Phillip and Celestra Zeller, Alan served in the US Army for several years, after completing high school. For 29 years, Alan was a foreman and laborer with the Town of Colonie Highway Dept, retiring in 1994.
He had previously worked for Eastern Tablet. Fishing and boating were Alan’s best of times, teaching his son to be a responsible angler. He also had amassed a huge collection of eagles, wolves and elephants ornaments that he proudly displayed about his home.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Raelinda Garmley Zeller, his son and grandson Raymond and Raymond James Zeller of Ballston Spa, his daughter Melissa Zeller of Schenectady, a sister Karen (Tom) Boudreau of Troy and a brother Bruce (Barbara) Zeller of Quaker Springs, along with number of nieces, nephews including his Garmley in-laws. Alan was predeceased by brothers Ken, Phil, Don and sisters Marietta and Dorothy. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 5 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So.
