Private family services were held. Inurnment was in Cotton Cemetery. Alan R. “Sneakie” Poster, 76, of Eveleth died Friday, October 26, 2018 at home.

He was born on November 14, 1941 in Eveleth to Frank P. and Amy I. (Fitzgerald) Poster. Alan graduated from Cotton High School in 1959. Following graduation, Alan enlisted in the United States Army on January 18, 1960.

He served three tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged at Fr. Bliss, Texas on November 3, 1974 having achieved… Read More » the rank of Sargent and receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device. He returned to Eveleth and worked as a truck driver for EVTAC.

Alan started the AA program in Cotton, meeting every Thursday and was proud of his 37 years of sobriety. The family would like to thank Alan’s caregivers and extend a special thank you to Wendy Randall. He is survived by his sisters, Candace A. Etter and Marna (Dick) Murphy both of Cloquet, Dorothy Rosga of Anchorage, Alaska and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Bruce and sister, Frances Randall.
