Obituary for Albert Joseph Janusa Albert “Al” Joseph Janusa passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at his residence in Mandeville, Louisiana, at the age of 81. He was born on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He resided in Metairie, Louisiana until 2000 and Mandeville for past 18 years.
Al was a 1955 graduate of Jesuit High School and a 1959 graduate of Loyola University. He retired as Secretary/Treasurer from Magnolia Liquor Co, Inc. after 30 years with the company. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9240 and fourth-degree member of the Deacon James Seghers Assembly No.
2467, Knights of Columbus, Mandeville, LA, as well as many other organizations. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Doris Ann Whittington Janusa; his children, David Albert Janusa, Michael Albert Janusa and his wife, Cheryl, and Debbie Janusa Daniel and her husband, Tim; five grandchildren, Jamie Janusa McBride and her husband, Ryan, Michael Joseph Janusa, Katherine Theresa Janusa, Christopher Michael Janusa, and Haley Elizabeth Daniel; and his great granddaughter, Mackenzie Marie McBride. Also survived by two brothers-in-law, nephews, and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Marrione Janusa and Joseph S. Janusa; and his brother, Lawrence J. Janusa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00 am. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until service time.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
