Albert Ulysses Duquette, 88, a lifelong Indian Orchard resident, passed away July 19, 2018. Born in Springfield, he was one of many children born to the late Albert and Anna (Gagne) Duquette. Albert served honorably with the U.S. Army Rangers during the Korean War and was a member of The American Legion Post 277 in Indian Orchard.

He worked as a caretaker at St. Aloysius Cemetery for over 50 years, retiring as foreman. Albert was very involved with the Indian Orchard Athletic Association for many years and was a committee member for the Boy Scouts Troup 40. He was also a member of the parish council at the former St. Aloysius Church.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish and belonged to the Swift River Sportsman Club where he served as a former member of the Board of Directors. Albert was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Mary (Curran) Duquette and his brothers and sisters: Damase Duquette, Laura Sanborn, Jeanette Carter, Yvonne Pieczarka, Cora Duquette, Charles Duquette, Lydia Decorie, Lionel Duquette, Alfred Duquette, Theodore Tetrault, Stella Crespeau, and Nellie Guyuette. He leaves his children: Ann Sullivan and her husband James of Springfield, Mark Duquette and his wife Patricia of Southboro, Mary Nabors and her husband Kenneth of Chicopee and Lionel Duquette and his wife Deborah of Ludlow; his grandchildren: Cameron, Allison, Jonathan, and Ryan Duquette and Matthew Nabors and also many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 assembling at 10:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave. , Indian Orchard and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
