OBITUARY Aldena Anna (Bennett) Bashor January 15, 1918 – November 8, 2018 Aldena passed away in Frisco, TX on November 8, 2018. Aldena was born in Sisson, Missouri to Samuel M. and Winnie E. (Gilliam) Bennett. She grew up on the farm lands just north of Denver Colorado.

She married Marvin I. Bashor December 18, 1937, divorced in 1960 She went back to college at the age of 42. She attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado and earned a degree in education. She taught 3rd grade in Fredricks, Colorado for 17 years before retiring.

After living in Colorado for over 80 years she relocated to Frisco to live near her daughter. Aldena learned to cook using a coal burning stove but in her later years she loved her microwave. She learned to drive a Model T but her favorite car was her 1970 Chrysler.

She was an excellent typist and enjoyed her computer until she was 99. She was a skilled seamstress and crocheted and knitted as well. She was most proud of her quilts.

She would sit in front of the TV with her lap hoop and quilt while watching her Team, the Denver Broncos. She played the piano, popular music; mostly by ear until she retired at which time she took classical music lessons. She also replaced her piano with an electronic key board.

She was hard of hearing and got her first hearing aid in 1941 and as her hearing diminished she witnessed the advances made in that technology. So many changes in her life time and she did wonder what was coming next. Aldena was preceded in death by her parents,, and brother Orvan Bennett.

She is survived by brother Jack Bennett of San Jose, CA, her daughter Betty Jo King(Robert) of Frisco TX, 2 sons Robert W Bashor (Janice) of Chambersburg PA, Richard Bashor of Montrose CO, 7 grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren. Aldena will be cremated and the ashes buried in Brighton, Colorado at a later date when the extended family can be present.
