OBITUARY Alex S Priskos Passed away on December 31, 2018 Alex S. Priskos 1959 ~ 2018 Alex S. Priskos, 59, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on December 31, 2018. Alex was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 8, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Stefanos B. Priskos, and his daughter Annicchia Priskos.
Alex will be deeply missed by his two children, Stefani E. Priskos and Andrew A. Priskos, and their mother Lisa N. Davis; by his mother, Billie P. Priskos; by his sister Tessie P. Lords, her husband John L. Lords, and their children Katherine and Anna Stacy Lords; his cousins Larry Limberis, Corina Dailey, Johanna Limberis, Steve Clark, Annastasia Proiskou and their families; his girlfriend Beth DeFour, his dog Gumshoe, and numerous other family members and friends. Alex graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City and obtained a degree in Mining Engineering from University of Utah. He also held an MBA from Utah State University.
As he used to joke, although his undergraduate degree taught him how to send things underground, he instead enjoyed a 35-year career in aerospace. At the time of his death, he held the position of SLS Systems Engineering & Integration Manager at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, following over a decade of service with the Agency. He also worked and held leadership positions at Hercules and Alliant Techsystems (ATK), and was recognized for excellence, leadership, and commitment throughout this career.
Alex will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting with his dog, fly-fishing, and biking, and sharing these hobbies with his friends, family, and children. He also shared with them a deeply held pride for his Greek heritage. He was loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial prayer service was held in Huntsville, AL on Friday, January 4, 2019. A viewing will be held at Wasatch Mortuary (3401 Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, UT) on Sunday, January 6 from 6pm – 8pm, with a prayer service at 7pm. A funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral (279 S. 300 W. Salt Lake City, UT) on Monday, January 7 at 12pm.
Alex will be laid to rest with his father and daughter at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Alex Priskos may be made to Holy Trinity Cathedral or to the American Heart Association through their website. FAMILY Stefanos B.
