Our family and staff at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations has been charged by the precious Sutton family with promulgating the passing of our beloved, Alexander Sutton, Jr Mr. Sutton was greeted by the wings of angels on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center with family surrounding his bedside. Life Celebration Services will take place on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Winfall, NC with Rev.

Alvin J. Boone, Sr., serving as Pastor and Officiant and Apostle Henry Jackson serving as Eulogist. His earthly bed of rest will be in the Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing and Visitation will take place ONE HOUR prior to the service.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Latoria Roundtree, 100 Seagull Drive, Elizabeth City, NC. Some loving characteristics of Alexander’s life that will be forever cherished: He was a hardworking and dedicated family man; very wise and smart; loved to talk and had a loving giving spirit. He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Helen Brown Sutton of Elizabeth City, NC; four children, Eleck Sutton, Sr. (Katrina) of Elizabeth City, NC, Felicia Reaves (Jesse) of Durham, NC, Latoria Roundtree (Terell) and Ray White of Elizabeth City, NC; four sisters, Elizabeth Sutton of Elizabeth City, NC, Wilma Moore of Kinston, NC, Carolyn Bell of Elizabeth City, NC and Clara Sutton of Hertford, NC; two brothers, Ervin Sutton (Tammy) and George Sutton of Elizabeth City, NC; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being expressed to the Sutton and connected families with love, care and uncompromising dignity by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, Elizabeth City, NC.
