Obituary for Alfred F. Urciuoli Alfred F. Urciuoli, 82 of Annadale, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Staten Island University Hospital North surrounded by his loving family. Born Sunday, June 7, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Salvatore Urciuoli and the late Philomena Ferrante Urciuoli. Alfred, a Sanitation worker for the City of New York, was a Korean War Navy veteran, stationed on the USS Vega, where he started playing baseball for the Navy.

After his discharge from the Navy, Alfred was drafted to the AAA farm teams for both the Pittsburgh Pirates (Hollywood Stars) and the Detroit Tigers. An injury to his arm derailed his Major league career. Alfred, loved trips to Atlantic City, and his regular visits to Carmines Cigars.

Alfred was a consummate card player and enjoyed his pinochle games. Al was also an avid baseball fan, but more than anything Alfred devoted his life to his children and grandchildren. He was the loving husband of Helen Petrillo Urciuoli.

Beloved father of , Salvatore Urciuoli, and daughters, Tara DeCicco and Lorraine Evangelista; Dear brother of the late Gaetano Urciuoli, Cherished grandfather of 9 grand children; Salvatore, LoriAnne, Stefanie, Ashley, Anthony, Alyssa, Taylor, Anthony, and Nicholas. and 9 great grand children; AJ, Craig, Ellie Nicole, Joseph, Cameron, Milania Ava, Vincent & Gabriella, and Christopher. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY.
