Alfred L. Chapman, 93, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Born June 23, 1925 in Queens Run, he was a son of the late Foster and Clarabelle Summerson Chapman. Alfred served in the United States Army during World War II.

On March 21, 1953 he married the former Marjorie D. Kennedy whom he dearly loved. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before her passing on October 3, 2002. Alfred was a hard worker, having been employed by Piper Aircraft, Die Works, Fromm’s Dry Cleaners, Clinton Paper Company for 23 years and then Hammermill Paper Company for 10 years before retiring in 1991.

In retirement he kept busy by working at Belle Springs Golf Course as well as doing lawncare for various doctors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially enjoying fly fishing. Alfred also enjoyed working on lawnmowers and tractors- always making sure they, as well as his vehicles, were waxed to shine.

Surviving are three children: Pamela (Bud) Workman, Alfred (Deb) Chapman and Allen Chapman; five grandchildren: Harold (Kathy) Workman, Jr., Christie Kramer, Holly Chapman, Caitlin Chapman and Jason (Wendy) Caskey; eight great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Junior, Orval, Leroy, Merrill, Allen, James and Harry Chapman and four sisters: Beatrice, Marie, Vera and Evelyn. Private services will be held at the convenience of his family.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Memorial contributions in Alfred’s name may be made to either the Clinton County S.P.C.A. or a charity of your choice through the funeral home.
