A lifelong resident of Long Island, Alfred was one of twelve children. Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lehning Petersen, three step-sons, Kenneth Iken of Patchogue, Carl Iken and his wife Marci of Florida and Brian Iken of Long Beach, two grandchildren, Cole and Mia Iken, his two brothers, Billy and his wife Kathy and Roger and his wife Diane, as well as many nieces and nephews.
