Alfred M. Thorson Jr. 79, of Elkhorn, WI formerly of Pell Lake, WI died Saturday September 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1939 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Alfred and Kathryn (Morris) Thorson. Alfred was united in marriage to the former Mildred L. Shea on October 11, 1963 in McHenry, IL.

Alfred worked in shipping and warehousing for Jewel T. Food Stores for many years retiring in 2001. Alfred was an avid bowler, serving as secretary of the McHenry Hangover Bowling League for over 20 years and served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Chapter of the American Bowling Association. He was a devoted and Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather who will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years Mildred, three children: Rick Thorson of Elkhorn, WI, Linda Thorson of Grayslake, IL and Jim (Sophia) Thorson of New Hartford, CT, one granddaughter; Taylor Claire Pribyl and by a host of other relatives and friends.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Shirley Settle and Marion Sandberg. Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday October 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 1407 N. Richmond Road McHenry, IL. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service.
