Mr. Nuñez was born August 2, 1946 to Tomas & Angela Nuñez. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Nuñez; 4 brothers, Tomas Nuñez, Rogelio Nuñez, Nicolas Nuñez, Jose Luis Nuñez & sister, Maria Fuentes.

Mr. Nuñez is survived by his wife, Hortencia Nuñez of Weslaco, TX; 1 daughter, Esmeralda Castillo (Juan) of Weslaco, TX; 1 son, Alfredo Nuñez, Jr. (Samantha) of Weslaco, TX & 2 sisters, Josefina Alaniz of Edinburg, TX & Maria De La Luz Zuniga of Elsa, TX. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Joshua Palacio, Jared Palacio, Jonathan Castillo, Jazmin Palacio, Aylin Castillo, Andrew Nuñez, Adriana Nuñez & Anthony Nuñez. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 with a 7:00 p.m. rosary both nights at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Castillo, Andrew Nuñez, Jared Palacio, Alfredo Nuñez, Jr., Juan Castillo, & Guadalupe Cerda.

Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N. Texas Ave. , Weslaco, TX (956) 969-1461.
