Obituary for Ms. Alice Jane Knight Alice “Jean” Knight, age 88, longtime resident of Minneapolis and Eagan, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018, surrounded by family. Jean was a proud, loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. Jean owned and operated her own business, Knight’s Maintenance Company, and was an accomplished gospel singer who performed at churches in the Twin Cities area.

Preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Boyd, and a brother, Robert Evans. She is survived by her six children, Sandra Smith (Forice) of Orlando, FL; Frieda Smith of Dallas, TX; Vanessa Knight of Dallas, TX; Xavier Knight (Liz) of Woodbury, MN; Denise Scott (Charles) of Orlando, FL; and Robin Knight of Eagan, MN; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by brother, J. B. Crawford of Detroit, MI and two sisters, Lois Vincent of Minneapolis, MN and Bessie Belcer of Rochester, NY.

A private memorial service was held by her family and a Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale, MN, or the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, 451 Lexington Parkway North, St. Paul, MN 55104, would be greatly appreciated.
