JOY KELLOGG (Alice Joy Bradbury) was born to Jack and Katie Bradbury on July 17, 1926 in Nashville Tennessee. Joy, as she was known to family and friends, married Frank Kellogg on August 27, 1944. Joy stood faithfully beside her Baptist preacher husband as a model pastor’s wife.

They served churches together in Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri from 1945 until 1970. The first thing Joy would ask friends and family was whether they knew her Lord as their personal savior. Joy became the ultimate hostess of teas and dinners for large numbers when Frank became president of Missouri Baptist College.

She was also a licensed real estate agent selling in St Louis County and later in the Lake of the Ozarks area. Joy was active in sports from the very beginning, playing ball in the streets of her neighborhood growing up, captain of her high school basketball team, playing volleyball and softball and bowling into her late 60’s. But the memory you would hear Joy talk about the most was waterskiing.

She was very proud of slalom waterskiing at the age of 70 and would tell anyone who would listen that she was pretty sure she could still do it at 80 and even 90. Joy and Frank resided at the Lake of the Ozarks where they were active members at First Baptist Church Camdenton, and volunteers at Lake Regional Hospital. The Kellogg’s funded a Gerontology Chair at Southwestern Seminary, and a Health Sciences Scholarship at Missouri Baptist University.

Joy is survived by three children, Linda Hostetter (Jack), David Kellogg, James Kellogg (Marsha Manwarring); nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Joy went to be with the Lord March 9, 2019. Memorials may be made to the Kellogg Health Sciences Scholarship Fund at Missouri Baptist University.
