Hurley, a resident of New Baltimore, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born November 23, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Allan H. and Phyllis W. Doyle Hurley. On May 11, 1957 in Mount Clemens, Michigan he was united in marriage to Eleanor “Ellie” A. Kandt.

Together they celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary. Mr. Hurley served in the United State Navy for over 20 years. Later he was employed in civil service as a military administrator.

Both he and Ellie served together in the United States military, stationed in Chicago, Florida, Virginia and Japan. He was a member of many local organizations including the AmVets Post #29. Active with his church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township, he was a member of the church’s bowling league and golf league.

He is survived by his wife Ellie, brother Roger ( Chad ) Hurley, niece Crista (Bruce) Collins, nephews Gary R. (Dawn) Kandt, Curtis A. (Julie) Kandt, and sister in law Gloria J. Kandt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother in law and sister in law Robert R. (Shirley) Kandt and brother in law Frederick L. Kandt. Private Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Human Care Fund. Share memories with the family at www.
