Obituary for Allen Clifford Elkins Sr. Print Kingsport – Allen C. Elkins 93, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on February 20, 2019. He was born and raised in Surgoinsville and lived most of his life in Kingsport. Mr. Elkins was a veteran of WWII.

He was employed by Flav-O–Rich Daries where he retired after 45 years of service. He was a faithful member of Bible Way Baptist church, where he greeted his church family with a church bulletin and spoiled the “Littles” with candy. Mr. Elkins loved his family dearly and spent every opportunity spoiling each and every one.

He enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and loved camping adventures with friends and family. He never met a stranger and was always eager to make new friends. Allen was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59, years Norma Elkins and his parents, Shaner and Ruth Elkins.

Mr. Elkins is survived by a daughter: Carolyn Daniel; son: Jr. Elkins and step-son: Larry Hensley. Granddaughters: Sharon Byrd (Richard), Karen Gardner (Mark), BJ DeBusk (Bill) and Haley Hensley; Great-Grandchildren: Josh Gardner (Hope), Rachel Vaughn (Logan), Hunter Byrd and Jackson DeBusk. A Great- Great-Granddaughter: Alli Jane Vaughn and a special “Gardner” bundle-of-joy on the way.

He is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth Elkins and Arleigh Elkins and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Elkins was honored to have two very special friends, Kenny and Jerrie Jayne, and a host of many others who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Bible Way Baptist Church, 570 Packinghouse Rd.

Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating. Mr. Elkins will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 23rd at 12:00 pm at the Oak Hill Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the American Legion Hammond post # 3/265.
