Obituary of Allen King On Saturday, February 9, 2019, Allen Vinson “Vince” King, loving husband, father and pa, passed away on the day after his 65th birthday. Vince was born on February 8, 1954, in Fort Worth, TX to Kenneth and Helen King of Hurst, Texas. On August 15, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart, Beth King, of Hurst.

They had two beautiful daughters and three precious granddaughters. Vince was preceded in death by his father, Ken, his mother, Helen and brother Steven. He is survived by his wife Beth; his daughter Valerie Turney, her husband Glenn and their daughter Morgan of Hurst; his daughter Kristie McKittrick, her husband Clay and their two daughters Claire and Abigail of Denton; his brother Mark King of Duncanville and Mark’s wife Bonnie; his brother and sisters in law, Curtis and Ronda Walling, Denise and Rick Doggett, Patrice and Dewayne Dugger, Donna and Doug Wade, and Lisa and Jeff Hutchison; his numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vince was a veteran who served in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division and 2nd Armored division from 1973 to 1981 with tours of duty in Korea and Germany. After his army career, he moved back to Hurst and worked for the cities of Keller, Flower Mound and Hurst where he retired in February 2018. He and Beth bought an RV in March of 2018, and their goal was to visit all 48 continental states.

They took off on the 1st of May and headed out to the east coast and hit 27 of those states, enjoying crab cakes in Maryland, lobster in Maine, maple syrup in Vermont, and cheeses in Wisconsin. They traveled for 30 days, returning home the 1st of June. They did not get to finish that journey, but we know that he and Beth had a full and wonderful life, and their journey will continue together in heaven one day.

Services will be held at Forest Ridge Funeral Home located at 8525 Mid Cities Blvd. , North Richland Hills, Texas, 76182. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 15 from 6pm – 8pm.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 16 at 3pm. Burial will be held on a later date at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a cancer foundation of your choice, or there are suggestions below.
