OBITUARY Almorinda Cabral February 23, 1925 – January 10, 2019 Almorinda “Alma” (Rebello) Cabral, age 93 passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Oaks. She was the wife of the late Arthur B. Cabral with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. A lifelong New Bedford resident, Alma was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary Rebello.

Almorinda was a graduate of New Bedford High School and worked as an accounts receivable clerk at the Acushnet Company for over 30 years. Alma was a member of the Freetown VFW Ladies Auxiliary, St Mary’s of Fairhaven Seniors, and Dartmouth Seniors Council on Aging. She enjoyed knitting and reading and loved to travel with her husband.

Survivors include 2 daughters; JoAnn Cabral and her longtime companion Steven Sachs of New Bedford, Susan E. Cabral of Flagstaff, AZ, a grandson, Acer Gossett of Phoenix, AZ a cousin David Amaral of Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Norbert Rebello and Virginia Souza. Her visitation will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford from 5-8pm.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 16th at 10am. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or www.
