ALSUINO’s Obituary Mr. Alsuino Benevides Cordeiro, 81, died May 2, 2019 at 933 Thrush Circle in Barefoot Bay, Florida. Al was born in St. Michael, Açores and lived in Barefoot Bay coming from New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2005. He owned and operated Al’s Café in New Bedford where he managed day-to-day operations and made his world famous caçoila.

The hospitality he offered guests at the café extended to his home where he often hosted large gatherings for his entire family on weekends. Al was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maria, and a caring father to his three children. Al was also a faithfal parishioner at both Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford and St. Luke Catholic Church in Micco, Florida.

He immensely enjoyed woodworking, dancing, vegetable gardening and maintaining his immaculate landscapes. Survivors include sons Alsuino Gaspar Cordeiro and Michael Gaspar Cordeiro of New Bedford, Massachusetts, daughter Teresa Mary Cordeiro Duprey of West Hartford, Connecticut, grandchildren Lauren Christine Cordeiro, Michael David Cordeiro, Elliot Francis Duprey, Ava Braulina Duprey and Aleksandr Manuel Duprey, and many cherished cousins, nephews, nieces, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria, father Manuel Cordeiro, mother Maria Costa, and brothers Anibal and Jorge Benevides.

Memorial contributions may be made to St . Luke Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Road, Micco, FL 32976 in memory of Alsuino B. Cordeiro . Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday May 10, 2019 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at St. Luke Catholic Church.

Interment will be held 2:00 PM at Sebastian Cemetery.
