OBITUARY Alton S. Atwood February 26, 1936 – August 20, 2018 Alton S. Atwood, 82, a lifelong resident of South Wellfleet, died on August 20, 2018. He was born in Hyannis, MA on February 26, 1936. He was the son of Floyd and Charlotte ( Silva) Atwood.

Alton served in the United States Navy as a signal man on the U.S.S Okanogan. He retired in 1973 and pursued oystering until retiring in 2004. His hobbies were traveling and he was also an avid reader.

Alton will be deeply missed by his daughter Arlene J. Beaton and her husband John of Mississippi, and half sister Stacy Bud (Atwood). He is also survived by three grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
