Alvin E. Irwin Sr., 80, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday morning June 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born November 23, 1937, in Franklin, he was the son of the late Alton E. Irwin and Hazel Bean Irwin. Alvin was married to the former Joyce Daubenspeck for 62 years and she survives.
He went on to make a career working for Franklin Steel for 37 years. Alvin belonged to the Donation Hill Bible Church. He had a passion for hunting deer.
Alvin was very good working with his hands. He enjoyed working on small engines and wood working. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Alvin Irwin Jr. and wife Debbie, Randall Irwin and wife Lori, and Chad Irwin and wife Donna; 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters Geraldine Schreckengost and Laverne Laing; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Louis Irwin and Kenny Irwin, and sisters Mabel Daniels, Josephine Boughner, and Evelyn Irwin. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience.
