Alvin “Fay” Wilson, age 84, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, at his home. A native of Erwin, Fay is a son of the late R.C. and Julia Wilson. He attended Erwin Presbyterian Church on Rock Creek and was an employee of Nuclear Fuel Services, where he was the Unions President.

He enjoyed fishing and was a musician, guitar picker and Cash Pottery collector. In addition to his parents, Fay is preceded in death by brothers: Floyd Wilson, Harold Wilson, Donald “Pat” Wilson, Calvin “Ray” Wilson and Merle Wilson; sisters: Beulah Whitney, Hazel Stockton and Thelma Garland. Alvin “Fay” Wilson leaves behind to cherish his memory: Long-time companion of 59 years: Zoola Ford; Nephews: Doug Staley and wife, Pat, Terry Wilson and wife, Lynn, Jerry Wilson and wife, Ruth Ann, David Garland and wife, Ping, Danny Stockton and wife, Shirley, Tracy Wilson and wife, Kristie, Carl Richard and wife, Teresa; Nieces: Joyce Schwenke and husband, Gary, Julia Bennett and husband, Patrick, Patty Rogers and husband, Jimmy, Kathy Wilson and husband, Steve.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Alvin “Fay” Wilson in a funeral service to be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 1:00 PM until service time on Sunday in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 6, 2019 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 AM for the service. Honorary pallbearers will be: Frank Tipton, Wayne Harris, Luther Williams, Jim Correll, Charlie Ervin, Ray Lacey and Patrick Bennett.
