Bishopville, S.C. Funeral services for Alvin Lynwood Hopkins age 75, will be held Thursday at 3:00 at the Concord United Methodist Church. Rev. Cathy Carr and Rev.

Greg Roland will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hopkins was born in Camden a son of the late Archie Benson Hopkins, Sr. and Cartha Berry Hopkins. He was owner of Alvin L. Hopkins Trucking Company for 40 years, he farmed most his life and stayed active up until his death. He was a graduate of Bishopville High School.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather and loved his family very much and was a hard worker. Surviving are his wife, Joan Pittman Hopkins, Bishopville; two sons, Wesley (BK) Hopkins, Bishopville and Lyn (Jackie) Hopkins, Bishopville; one brother, Archie Benson Hopkins, Jr. Bishopville; one sister, Patricia (Fred) Nobles, Bishopville; two grandsons, William Hopkins and Justin Hopkins; two step grandchildren, Lauren (Patrick) Bugger and Joshua Napper; one great grandchild, Vance Langford. He was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Hopkins.
