Obituary for Alyce Catherine Spain Alyce Catherine Ervin Spain was born April 26, 1941 in Salem, IL to William C. and Grace R. Ervin. Alyce was born again in 1955 under the ministry of Pastor Francis Watson and wife Bess at Trinity Methodist Church in Salem, IL. That experience and relationship with Jesus Christ directed the balance of her life here on earth with extended benefits in eternity.

Her physical life ceased to function Sunday, September 17, 2018. She now is alive and well in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ waiting for the resurrection of her new body when Jesus returns to receive those who have put their trust in Him. She married her best friend and the love of her life, William L. Spain, on December 27, 1959.

Their union produced three wonderful children: Ellen, Laura, & William III. She was a loving and caring mother and wife with many talents. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was a gifted writer of poetry and music. Alyce was a great wife and homemaker as well. Her great passion was the reading, studying, living, and teaching God’s Word.

Alyce is survived byer her husband, William “Bill” Spain, of the home; daughter, Ellen Ballinger and husband William “Bill” of Oklahoma City; daughter, Laura Corser and husband Keith of Edmond; son, William III and wife Cheryl of Edmond. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren: Autumn Paterson and husband Justin, Samuel Ballinger and wife Lesley, Tucker Ballinger and wife Steffanie, Jameson Ballinger and wife Dylan, Bryan Corser, Sean Corser and wife Annie and Mariah Corser; as well as her seven great grandchildren, Adelyn and Sadie Ballinger, Boston, Nash and Baker Paterson, Emmett Ballinger, and Catherine Corser. Alyce is also survived by a sister, Judy Tanner and husband Herb; and a brother, William C. Ervin and wife Shelly.

A service celebrating Alyce’s life will be at 11am on Wednesday, September 19th at Sooner Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Sooner Baptist Church.
