Obituary for Alyce Elizabeth Sims Alyce Elizabeth Sims, 48, loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away early Sunday morning, September 23, 2018. Alyce was born on June 22, 1970 in Monroe, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Monroe Sims, Jr. and Betty Givens Sims.

She was a 1988 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas. As a mother and a daughter, she was a loving and sunny person who always made us laugh. Alyce never knew a stranger.

She found comfort in being with other people, and wanted to bring comfort to others. She considered herself in an instant relationship with people she would meet. If standing in line at the grocery store, she would acknowledge that they had something in common, “waiting”.

Their brief conversations usually ended in laughter. Survivors include her parents; one daughter, Lauren Tran; sons, Christopher Sims and Brandon Tran, all of Grand Prairie; and her brother, Kevin Sims of Arlington.
