Obituary for America C. Nunez America Argentina Nuñez (née Castaño Garrido) America Argentina Nuñez (née Castaño Garrido) of Miami, FL passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, October 8, 2018. America was born on September 10, 1927 in Yateras, Oriente, Cuba to Agustīn Castaño Trabanca y Manuela Garrido Fermoselle. America is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Jose (Cuco), her son Richard (Marta), and her parents.
She is survived in life by her children Dr. Anselmo (Kay) and George (Deborah) and her grandchildren Katie (Jose), Michael (Chyna), Sarah and Jacob. She is also survived by her brother Aley. America was an exemplary mother and generous grandmother.
In the business world, America founded Fashion Studio, Miami Beach, and successfully managed the women’s alterations department for many years. Our family wants to express profound gratitude for the affection and dedication to all those who cared for our dear America: Rudy Grosso, who loved her as her own mother, we forever thank you for your love and tenderness. We also appreciate the team at Seasons Hospice led by Case Manager Ana Fernandez R.N. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 10:00pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Van Orsdel (11220 N. Kendall Dr, 33176).
Services will be held at the Van Orsdel Chapel at 11:00am on Friday, October 12, 2018, and America will be laid to rest immediately following at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery (11411 N.W. 25th St, 33172). Sobrevivientes son sus hijos Dr. Anselmo (Kay), George (Deborah), y nietos Katie (Jose), Michael (Chyna), Sarah y Jacob. También la sobrevive su hermano Aley. America fué una madre ejemplar.
