OBITUARY Amida Franca Cecchinelli June 16, 1937 – October 24, 2018 Amida “Franca” Cecchinelli – Born June 16th, 1937 in Monte San Biagio, Italy to Domenico and Lidia Livoli. Franca as she was affectionately called passed away on October 24th with her loving husband of 51 years by her side. Franca came to the United States in 1962 where she started working for KLH in Cambridge, MA.

After she met her husband, Joseph, they opened a wood fire pizzeria, “Franca’s” on Felton St. in Waltham, MA. Together they built a family and eventually moved to Cape Cod where they opened “Franca’s II” in Wareham, MA. Franca was the epitome of an Italian Mama.

Her warmth and care for all people in her life was tremendous. Franca’s family was her world. She will be remembered and celebrated for all the love she gave to her community.

Mostly she will be remembered for the food she prepared in and outside her restaurants. Once you tasted the food she prepared, you understood how food can translate into love. Her loving light will shine on through her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Cecchinelli of Bourne, MA, her children, Joseph and Linda Onorati of Plymouth, MA, Clara and Steve Lassman of Bourne, MA, Maria and Gerardo DiGiorgio of Waltham, MA, and Frankie and Kara Cecchinelli of Providence, RI. Grandchildren include Brittany and Olivia Lassman of Bourne, MA, Adriana, Isabella, and Francesco DiGiorgio of Waltham, MA, Surviving sibling, Adriana Livoli Addessi of Fondi, Italy. Friends and family whose lives Franca touched are invited to Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA 02532 on Monday, October 29th from 4pm-8pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 on Tuesday, October 30th at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital. Franca was always thinking about the children.
