Obituary for Amos Hill Hayden Amos Hill Hayden, longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in Okmulgee at 91 years of age. Amos was born April 14th, 1927 in Sharp, Oklahoma to the late Dolph H. and Hettie T. Hayden. Amos graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1947 after serving in the US.

Navy during World War II 1944-46. He also served during the Korean War 1950- 52. He married Cora Lee Craig of Okmulgee on September 14, 1949.

Amos worked many years at American Window Glass and finished his glass making career retiring from Ball Brothers Glass in Okmulgee. During retirement he worked several years part- time at Marshall Plastics as a handy- man. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dana J. Hayden, and sister Evelyn Smith of Okmulgee.

Survivors include wife of Cora Lee of Okmulgee, sisters Helen Rice of Okmulgee, Ida Mae Vaughn of Okmulgee, Wanda Wittman of Nuyaka, Betty Lester of Morris, brother Dwayne Hayden and wife Shirley of Choctaw, children James Hayden and wife Judy of Oregon, OH, Dolph Hayden and wife Page of Okmulgee, grandchildren Jennifer Brown and husband Howie of Ohio, Nicole Hayden of Ohio, Zack Hayden and wife Kassandra of Okmulgee, Kristen Hayden and fiancé Matt Malone of Addison TX, great grandchildren Hayden Brown, Mason Brown, Elise Brown, Brecken Horst, Ethan Horst, Parker Horst all of Ohio, Asa Svengard of Okmulgee and many nieces and nephews. Amos loved his family, was proud to serve his country, could fix anything, fish with the best of them, and was known to pull a leg or two. A memorial service is pending and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to a Veteran’s organization or the Okmulgee County Family YMCA.
