Andrew L. Papson, Jr., age 79 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital. Born June 15, 1939 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Andrew L. Papson, Sr. and Kathryn (Roberts) Papson. A US Army Veteran and member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, Andrew retired as a machinist for Liberty Poly Glass in West Mifflin and also worked as a greeter for WalMart in West Mifflin for 16 years.

He gave of his time as a little league coach for many years, coaching the AllStar Travel team, and was an enthusiastic fan of Clairton Bears sports and the local, Pittsburgh pro teams. Andrew is survived by his wife Elaine (Fazio) Papson; his sons Andrew L. (LeAnne) Papson, III of Glassport and James R. (Reina) Papson of Menifee, CA; his daughters Cindy Latine of McKeesport, Wendy (William Poole) Papson of Liberty Borough, and Audra (David Mavilla) Ackman of Clairton; his grandchildren Aron, James, Jr., Ron, Dylan, Robert, and JaLaya Papson and Tara (Philip) Boyette; his great-grandchildren Regan, Noah, and Logan Boyette; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia Nero and Andrea Olar, and his brothers John T., James K., and Frederick Papson.

Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 in the funeral home at 12 Noon with Pastor Michael Airgood officiating. Interment will be private at the request of the family.
