Obituary of Andrew Christensen GOUVERNEUR- Andrew “Andy” Jean Christensen, age 79, of Gouverneur, but formerly of Breakabeen, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Andrew was born on April 20, 1939 in Breakabeen, NY to the late Emil and Katie (Sommer) Christensen. He graduated from high school and then entered into the United States Army in 1957 and served until his honorable discharge in 1964.

He married Linda E. Coons on March 29, 1980 in Breakabeen, NY. Andy was a self-employed carpenter and general contractor. He was always tinkering with things and could fix anything.

Surviving is his wife Linda, of Gouverneur, NY; a son, Jeffrey Dean and Pam Christensen of Middleburgh; a daughter, Danette Diane Christensen of Cobleskill; a step-daughter, Elaine Diamond of Gouverneur; two step-sons, Edward Cummings of Dolgeville and Kevin Cummings of Panama City, FL; a sister, Margaret Broadwater of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Danielle, Michael, Kristin, Joshua, Lyndi, Caleb and Leureah; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria (Sweet Pea), the bright spot in his day. There will be no calling hours or funeral. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
