OBITUARY Ann Ballard Anderson July 23, 1938 – July 19, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Calabash, NC Julia “Ann” Ballard Anderson, 79, died July 19, 2018 at home with her loving family by her side. Born on July 23, 1938 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruby Evans Ballard. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mason H. Anderson; daughter, Deborah “D.L.” Anderson; brother, Clyde “Butch” Ballard; granddaughter, Rhiannon Landesberg; four nephews, Gregg and Drew Benton, Kevin and Marc Anderson; three nieces, Paula Smith, Melissa Ballard Hyde, Heather Ballard; cousin, Charles Ballard; great nieces and nephews; her best friend, Brenda Marlowe, and many, many friends who loved her dearly.

She is predeceased by her sister, Jean Ballard Benton. The family will receive friends at their home at Brunswick Plantation, Calabash, NC from 6 to 9 pm on Sunday, July 22. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, Ann’s birthday, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at McLamb-Anderson Cemetery, adjacent to the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice/Mercy Care, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422, Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 954 Calabash Road, Calabash NC 28467, Holy Bethel FBH, PO Box 7147 Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 or Eliana’s Light at www. elianaslight.org.

D.L. gives special, special love and thanks to Gary Reaves, my fiancé, for playing Sinatra, Kathy Long for driving here in the rain, Trilla for singing with Mom, Paula for her fashion expertise, Howard for being there everyday and Sonya for her advice, Jimmy Mac for being there for Dad, Brother Gowens for all the errands and bedside prayers – To Dawn, Edna, Teresa, Angie, KD, and Denise – my posse of angels- and all the friends and family who were there and blessed to know her – she loved you all. Mason, DL and Rhiannon also give love and thanks out to her caregivers, Utrilla Jenrette, Renee Bell, Betty Gore, Becky LaSalle, Bernice Weaver, Elaine Strassburg, and Bontee from Hospice.
