Obituary for Ann Banks (Merrick) Ann Mildred (Merrick) Banks was born on October 20, 1930 in New York, NY to Deighton and Nita (Blackman) Merrick. Ann passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. After many years of service, Ann retired from Verizon as an Information Operator.

She loved to crochet, knit, and sew. She was an avid reader, and found joy in doing all types of puzzles. Ann was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1961, and was faithful to the end.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, John S. Banks; her sister Joan, and her sons Robert and Edmond. She is survived by her daughters Jeanette Kem & Ruth Ann; sons Shon Stanley &Rueben Ray; grandchildren John, Luke, Chaine, Jay, Niquira, Jaime, James, and Naalah; 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main Street, Freehold on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM; a service will take place at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00.
