Marie Orton Panguitch, Utah Marie Liston Orton, 82, returned to her heavenly home on December 6, 2018 in Panguitch. She was born on May 24, 1936 in Logan, Utah, to Russell Knute and Sibyl Bullen Nelson. She married Don Liston January 25, 1960 in the Logan Temple.

He preceded her in death June 19, 1988. She then married West Orton, November 30, 2002 for time in the St. George Temple. Marie received a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from BYU.

Her first teaching job was in Escalante, Utah. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marie served a mission to Arkansas, was Relief Society president, Primary coordinator and served in the temple with her husband West for over six years. She loved going to the temple.

She was also a member of the DUP, belonged to the PTA, and was county fair chairman. She and her husband West drove Meals on Wheels for about 10 years. Marie and West were snowbirds—spending their winters in La Verkin and summers in Panguitch.

She loved her walks around Panguitch. She also loved to garden and had one of the nicest gardens in town. She will be missed by all.

Survived by her husband, West; children: Lorraine and David Owens, Glenn D. Liston, Natalie and David Larsen; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren;brothers: Garth (Valene) Nelson and Time (Caroline) Nelson. Also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Panguitch 1st Ward Chapel, 550 South 100 West, where friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery at 3:30 p.m..
