OBITUARY Anna Cao Thi Nghiem July 2, 1937 – November 6, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Anna Nghiêm Cao, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on November 6, 2018. She is dearly remembered by her husband of 61 years, her four siblings, her nine children, and twenty one of her grandchildren. Nghiêm had a huge family, and she was the heart of it.
Nghiêm was born on July 2, 1937 in the small village of Xuân Phong, Nghệ An in Vietnam. For all of her life in Vietnam, Nghiêm was a giver, always working extraordinarily hard to be a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and daughter. In 1993, Nghiêm migrated to Charlotte, NC to reunite with two of her children in the United States.
Over the next few years, she helped in sponsoring the rest of her children to Charlotte, giving everything she could to reunite her family in the United States. Nghiêm was also a beloved second mother to her grandchildren. For over two decades, she warmly greeted her grandchildren coming home from school and devoted herself to their care.
Nothing gave her greater joy than holding her grandchildren tight and humming them to sleep. She raised her grandchildren to value the same morals, warmth and good will that she had. Throughout her life, Nghiêm was and is the embodiment of pure, unconditional love, and ever-present warmth.
She will be greatly missed. The family will be holding a visitation for Nghiêm at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service on November 9th, from 6PM to 9PM. A memorial service will be held the next day, November 10th at St. Joseph Catholic Church starting at 11AM, followed by her burial.
