Obituary for Anna E MacDonald (O’Brien) Print Anna E (nee O’Brien) MacDonald, 87, of Keansburg, passed away peacefully, surround by her family on Friday, February 15, at home. She was born and raised in Bronx, NY, until moving to Keansburg 62 years ago. Anna loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

She was very proud of her Irish heritage and although when she was a child she was shy she was able to win awards for her Gaelic speaking and Irish step dancing. Anna was very active at St. Ann’s Church and Blue Jean Hall volunteering her time, she was an avid reader and also enjoyed walking, but her favorite time spent was with her loving family. Anna is pre-deceased by her parents; Christopher and Anna O’Brien and the love of her life; William in 2008.

She is survived by six sons and daughter in-laws; William MacDonald, Daniel MacDonald, John and Joan MacDonald, Thomas and Dori MacDonald, Joseph and Colleen MacDonald, and Robert and Christine MacDonald, three daughters and son in-laws; Kathleen and William Corridon, Maryann and William Gallagher and Patricia and Christopher Dugan. Two brothers; John and Christopher O’Brien, a sister Jean Reynolds, 16 grandchildren; Dori and Ryan, Kasey, Thomas, Shannon and Kyle, Kelly, Steven, Lindsay, Anna and Jake, Nick, Willie, Hunter, Sam, and Ray, 16 great grandchildren; Madison,Brayden, Chayce, Kylie, Emma, Dylan, Averie, Declan, Lucy, Adam, Jake, Mya, Andrew, Alaina, Donald, and Felice, and her beloved pet Mac. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, February 23rd from 12-4PM for a memorial service at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave.

Keansburg. Cremation was private. At the request of the family in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in Anna’s memory.
