Anna Mary Murray, 95, of Midwest City, OK, died November 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 22, 1923 in Smyrna, DE to Margaret Thomas and Gilmore Dixon. As a young lady, she worked at Dravo Ship Yard in Wilmington, DE where she commuted 70 miles 5 days each week to work.

Later, she moved to Wilmington, DE and married George Murray in 1957. During her lifetime, she became an active member of Bethel AME Church and Greater Bethel Apostolic Temple (New Destiny Fellowship). … Read More » Anna served in several ministries at both churches including: the King of Kings Choir, the Heavenly Gospel Chorus, the Sunshine and Hostess Club, and the kitchen and communion teams.

In addition, she was the head of the Mother’s Board at New Destiny. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Elwood Thomas and sister, Ruth Handy. Anna is survived by Ovidia Thomas of Midwest City, OK; Signoria Cook (Roland) of Elkton MD; Orienthia Holmes of Midwest City, OK and George E. Murray, Sr (Yulonda) of Newark, DE, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
