Obituary for Anne Howard Chamberlain-Tuite Anne Howard (Chamberlain) Tuite of Shrub Oak, NY passed away on Thursday, May 17th at her home with her husband Stephen at her side after an 18-month battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Eugene R. Chamberlain and Helen Howard Chamberlain of Hingham, MA. The college sweethearts were married for 32 loving years.

Anne was born in Weymouth, MA, and grew up in Hingham until going off to college at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York. After graduating from SLU in 1985, they became engaged and then married in July of 1986 in Hingham and had their wedding reception in her backyard. After a couple of years in the mid-west they both attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University where Anne received a Master’s in Education in 1989.

She received another Master’s in Leadership Development from Mercy College in 2005. After graduating from Bowling Green she worked at the Youth Center at the United States Military Academy. In 1990, she joined PepsiCo where she ran the Employee Well ness program for 10 years.

She then made a career move into teaching Health Education in the Mahopac School District where until recently she took some time off her to deal with her illness. She taught in the district for 16 years. Anne was an avid runner who finished 9 marathons and a handful of 1/2 marathons.

She loved her haven “SkyHill” in New Hampshire where she would summer with the family as well as spend time there to celebrate the holidays. She enjoyed reading and writing, hiking, crafting and taking long walks in the woods to be close to nature. Her real loves were her boys Matthew Howard and John “Jack” Ryan.

She would always attend their events to cheer them on. She loved to hear their voices and laughter as they played. Anne is survived by her husband Stephen and her boys Matthew Howard and John “Jack” Ryan.

In addition, her brother Richard Chamberlain and his wife Becky of Hingham, MA, her sister Betsy Habich and her husband Mike of Beverly Farms, MA, her father in-law James L. Tuite, Jr. of Brockton, MA, her sister-in-law Suzanne Tuite of Middleboro, MA, sister-in-law Margie Tuite and Gingi Booras of Swampscott, MA, sister-in-law Patty Oliari and her husband Mark of Bridgewater, MA, brother in-law James Tuite and his wife Rosemary of Brockton, MA, brother-in-law Robert Tuite and his wife Debbie of Auburn, NH as well as many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. Anne was predeceased by her mother-in-law Edda M. (Fiacco) Tuite and brother-in-law Daniel Tuite. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours at the Yorktown Funeral Home at 945 E. Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY, 10588 on Monday, June 11th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Memorial Service is being planned for late summer or early fall in Hingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s name may be made to her boy’s 529 Plans in which a Ugift program has been established.
