OBITUARY Annie B. Hopkins January 2, 1932 – October 20, 2018 Annie B. Hopkins, 86, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018. She was born January 2, 1932 in Albemarle, NC to her loving parents Sam and Alma Burris. Ann was a schoolteacher for 34 years.

She loved being silly and laughing with her students. She instilled good morals in her students and encouraged further education. She was known to say, “You can go as far as you push yourself” she learned that having a handicap does not make you disabled.

She also loved her sewing group, shopping with her granddaughters Tasha and Crystal, traveling and camping. Ann was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star group through her church. Ann was predeceased by her the love of her life, her husband, Robert Hopkins.

She is survived by her sons Al Hopkins and Zane Hopkins; her caregiver and daughter-in-law Ann; her brother Ted Burris; three grandchildren, Tasha, Joe and Crystal; three great-grandchildren, Wade, Baylee and Lukas; as well as many nieces and nephews. All those that knew and loved Ann will miss her.
