Obituary for Annie Burnett Green Annie Burnett Green, 88, of 3036 Sugar Tree Church Rd. , Danville, VA, died on, November 30, 2018, at her residence after a decline in health for the past six months. Mrs. Green was born in Galax, VA, on March 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Thomas Henry Burnett and the late Cora Fields Burnett.

She lived most of her life in Pittsylvania County, VA, where she worked as a Weaver for Dan River Mills, Inc. until her retirement. She was an active member, while her health permitted, of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She also played guitar and piano at her church.

In her spare time, she was an avid reader. Annie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On April 8, 1955, she married the love of her life, Bernard Franklin Green, who predeceased her.

Survivors include two daughter, Shirley G. Yarus (Paul), of Danville, VA, and Sandra G. Keatts (Rodney), of Axton, VA; a grandson, Franklin Donald Keatts, of Axton, VA; and a great grandson, Rylan Keatts, of Axton, VA. Annie held a special place in her heart for her caregiver, Sheila Eanes, who watched over and helped take care of her for two years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Goolsby, Ola Burcham, and Daisy Hensdal; and two brothers, William Burnett and Vivian Burnett.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the graveside at the Green Family Cemetery with the Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 7:00-8:30 PM and at other times will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 4401 Westover Dr., Danville, VA, 24541.
