Annie Maust Beitzel , April 27, 1927 — December 01, 2018

Annie (Maust) Beitzel, 91, of Springs, PA, died Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Beitzel. At the moment of her earthly death, Annie entered into the presence of God, and lives eternally in Heaven.

Annie’s destination was made certain when she placed her faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Annie (Maust) Beitzel was born April 27, 1927, in Meyersdale, PA, to Harvey and Verna (Miller) Maust, and married Wilbur Beitzel on June 17, 1951, at Maple Glen Mennonite Church in Grantsville. They were married for 63 years, and together have 11 children: Marietta (and Charles – deceased) Allen, Harrisonburg, VA; Larry (and Nohemi) Beitzel, Springs; Lorraine (and Richard Davis) Beitzel, Strasburg, VA; Wayne (and Janie) Beitzel, Rockingham, VA; Willis (and Greta) Beitzel, Sequim, WA; Julia (and Laban) Tice, Springs; Donald (and Sheera) Beitzel, Bittinger; Ronald (and Shari) Beitzel, Springs; Titus (and Beth) Beitzel, Bittinger; Marlin (and Dawn) Beitzel, Winchester, VA; and Merlin (and Lisa) Beitzel, Accident.

Annie also has 24 grandchildren, two of whom preceded her in death, and 11 great-grandchildren. Annie is also survived by two sisters, Arline (Karl) Westmeier, and Edna (Gordon) Bender, and sister-in-law, Ida Maust, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Arvin Maust, and Elmer Maust, and two sisters, Iva Zook, and Emma Maust. Annie will be remembered by her family and friends for her unfailing love and acceptance, hard work, and joy of singing.

She blessed many with her love of sewing and contagious positive attitude. She was a partner with Wilbur in their businesses: farming, Springs Store, Beitzel Wholesale, and a taxi service for Amish. She was actively involved in various ministries in her church, including teaching Sunday school and the Helping Hands sewing circle and The World’s Attic.

She and Wilbur loved to travel. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Monday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Springs Mennonite Church, Tuesday, December 4, at 11:00 a.m., with viewing one hour prior. Interment will be in the Lower Springs Cemetery.
