Scotia – Anthony James Rozek, 79, of Glen Avenue, Scotia, NY died January 12,2019. Mr Rozek was born in Schenectady, NY to Felix F. and Anna E. Rozek, both deceased. He was a lifelong resident of the area until 2019.

He was a 1957 graduate of the Technical Electrical Course at Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. He attained an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force. He attended several government and Air Force schools in accounting, administration and personnel.

Mr. Rozek worked at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia from 1960 to 1988. He held supervisory positions in accounting, administration and personnel. He served in the 109 Tactical Airlift Group, New York Air National Guard at Stratton Air Guard Base.

He was a Reservist and Air Technician. He retired in 1988 with a rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Air Force during the Berlin Crisis from 1960 to 1962.

From 1988 to 1989 he worked at Otto Oldsmobile in the used automobile department. In 1989 he started work at the Albany NY BJs Wholesale Club for and remained there several years. Mr. Rozek started work for the New York State Thruway in 1999 and held positions in the Albany Section and Division areas.

He retired from the NYS TWY in December 2003. Mr. Rozek enjoyed many visitis with his grandchildren and children during his retirement. He als enjoyed touring with his wife Alice and their camper.

He was a member of the Lake George Power Squadron of the USPS and held positions as photographer, member of the rules committee and assisted as instructor for several offered courses. He was a member of the Get Together Mixed Bowling League. A member of the USAF Sergeants Association, VFW.

He was a member of the Emmanuel/Friedens Church, Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY, served as assistant financial secretary. Anthony was predeceased by his wife Alice E. (Douglass) Rozek in 2015. Survivors include a Daughter, Amy E. (Robert E.) Washburn, a Son, Cpt.

Andrew J. (Caroline Gnau) Rozek, and several grandchildren. Service information to be added at a later time.
