Anthony Jerome Carter Sr. departed from this earth on February 26, 2019. Anthony was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 14, 1959 to the late James Robert and Ella Mae Carter. Anthony was raised in West Baltimore where he attended and later joined Little Arc Baptist Church.

Quite the athlete, Anthony loved competitive sports such as tennis, football and track and won many awards. Anthony attended and graduated from Baltimore City High School, He also attended Community College of Baltimore but his love was aviation. In 1977, Anthony joined the Air Force Reserves and later became an active duty airman.

During this time he married Dountaye Hanks (now deceased). After faithfully serving our country for fifteen years, Anthony became a car salesman for Price Honda and later the Winner Group. Wanting to spend more time with his family, Anthony sought out and accepted employment with the State of Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill.

Anyone that knew Anthony knew his main passion was building his own personal flight simulator which he worked diligently putting together intricate parts and pieces while upgrading its quality over a 30-year span. Proudly he started a Flight Simulator Club of Dover. Affectionately known as “Pop”, Anthony was a very loving husband, friend, father and grandfather to all that he came in contact.

Always with a joke and a smile “Pop” could MacGyver any item you could break. Leaving to cherish Anthony’s memory is his wife Rene Carter of Dover, two daughters, Sharnette Carter of Dover, Annette Berry of Smyrna and three sons Anthony Carter of Smyrna, Antoine Carter of Magnolia and Andrew Carter of Dover, one brother James (Robby) Carter of Baltimore Maryland, two sisters Rhonda Carter and Trina Carter both of Baltimore, Maryland, one faithful son-in-law Troy Berry of Smyrna, one sister-in-law Michelle Faulkner of Baltimore, Maryland, two sisters-in-law Annette and Darlene Trent of Baltimore, Maryland. Three friends like brothers John Harden, Sam Ortiz and John Driggus, 10 grandchildren, a close family friend like a daughter Jessica Yim and a host of family members and friends.

A memorial service will ve 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made via www.
