OBITUARY Anthony Joseph Rodriguez November 27, 1936 – December 30, 2018 Anthony Joseph Rodriguez, 82, native of Independence, LA and resident of Greenwell Springs, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. Known to family and friends as Junior, A.J., Tony, or “Boo,” he loved his family, cooking, eating, dancing, watching sports, entertaining his loved ones with stories from the past, and having a good ole’ time. He never met a stranger and had a sense of humor that always filled the room with laughter.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Phillipine Sea. His career also included 10 years at the Baton Rouge Fire Department and 33 years at Exxon Mobil (BRPO) where he retired from in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gayle Rodriguez; daughters, Teresa Brian and husband Blake, Jodi Beauchamp and husband Mark; sons, Marc Rodriguez, Kevin Rodriguez and wife Lori; grandchildren, Brittnie Crumholt, Kaycie Brian, Brandy Levatino, Allen Brian, Matthew Walker, Kyle Brian, Toni Rodriguez, Aron Beauchamp, Amber Powell, and spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Byron Reynolds; godchild, Darren James; brother-in-law, Douglas James; and special friends, Will and Mildred Harbert.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Felice Rodriguez; his aunt, Selena Brady; and other relatives, Miller and Josephine Reynolds, Sonny Reynolds, Venice and Penny Watts, Shirley James, and Hallie Brian. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5pm-9pm, with Rosary beginning at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA from 9am until funeral services at 11am.

Burial will follow at Greenoaks mausoleum.
