Obituary for Anthony La Forgia Anthony La Forgia, born in New York City 100 years ago, passed away peacefully at home in Tinton Falls on June 12th. As a child he received an award as one of New York City’s brightest children. A graduate of Columbia University and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. La Forgia set up his practice in Nutley in 1948, and had a long career as a prominent dentist, dental researcher, and recognized leader in a number of professional dental organizations.

Among his many prestigious awards, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Anthony was a kind and generous man who was well loved by so many. He enjoyed playing tennis until his 90’s, loved watching University of Michigan Wolverine football games, and playing bridge.

He spent over 43 wonderful years with his loving wife, Christine. His 5 sons remember him as a man who showed by example how to live as honorable, caring, and kind men. He was predeceased by his first wife, Esther, in 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; his sons, Barry, Brian, Jerry, Nick, and Robert; and his grandchildren, Robert, Marina, Ambar, Anthony, Chiara, and Tessa. All Service Details to Follow.
