Obituary for Anthony “Tony” Butz Anthony “Tony” Butz, 62, of Manteno, Illinois, passed away early Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno, Illinois on Saturday, May 12 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Those wishing to sign Tony’s guestbook may do so at – www.

brownfuneralhomemanteno.com/ Tony was born February 13th, 1956 in Chicago Heights, IL to Dixie and Raymond Butz of Steger, IL. He went to Bloom Township High. Tony married Linda Nimtz in 1972.

He served as an Aviation Electrician in the Navy from 1975 – 1979 and traveled all over the world on the USS Enterprise Aircraft Carrier. After serving, he and his family moved to Houston, TX where he lived for over 30 years. He divorced in 1989.

Tony held various occupations, particularly in carpentry, home building and remodeling. In 1985, he began his 20+ year career with Kuehnert’s Antique Center and Auction Gallery in Houston, Texas where he did a variety of things including furniture and electrical repair, customer deliveries, and auction managing. He moved on and decided to head to Islamorada, Florida where he would be working with his daughter Angela for a while.

Tony suffered a brain injury in a fall in January of 2015 and moved to his mother’s home in Manteno, Illinois temporarily to recover. He really loved living in the Keys and was planning to move back there to be near his daughter onceagain. Tony is survived by his daughter Angela Butz and son Anthony “Tony” (Butz) Bacewicz and his wife Valerie Bacewicz; grandchildren Derek and Aaron Bacewicz.

Also survived by his mother Dixie Butz and siblings Raymond Butz, Joseph Butz, Susan (Butz) Swanson and James Butz. He was so proud of both his children’s successes in life and so proud of his two grandsons. He enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing, playing paintball and loved the laid back Florida lifestyle and weather.
