Obituary of Anthony Palattella Anthony (Tony) Palattella, born in Long Island City on July 28, 1935, passed away at his home in Carmel, NY on January 4, 2019. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Hughes, Calderone). Devoted father of Dr. Anthony Joseph.

Dear brother of siblings Frank, Rachel, Mary and Angie. Adoring grandfather of Olivia. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by siblings Celia, Elisa, John and Edward, and first wife, Helen. Tony worked for fifty years at SECS Incorporated in Mount Vernon, NY. He was an usher for St. James Parish in Carmel, NY, and a former usher at St. Aidan’s in Williston Park, NY.

Tony was a proud veteran of the US Army and was an avid Mets fan. His easygoing character and warm personality endeared him to anyone who met him. Tony was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, January 8 at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY. A second visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, January 9 at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY. Funeral mass will be Thursday, January 10 at 10am at the Church of St. Aidan, 505 Willis Avenue, Williston Park, NY.

Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
