Anup Singh, age 79, of Powell, OH passed away on May 18, 2019 in Powell, OH. Retired as a Professional Mechanical Engineer and Gas Turbine Specialist at American Electric Power (AEP). Survived by: His Beloved Wife Nirmal K. Singh; His Beloved Daughters Nidhi Huyberechts (married to Didier), Nitasha Singh, and Ritu Singh; His Beloved Grandson Alexander Huyberechts; and Many Beloved Family and Friends.

Graduate of: Peoples Friendship University of Russia (M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Power Engineering); Polytechnic University of Brooklyn (M.S. in Nuclear Engineering); Jat College Rohtak (Punjab University, B.Sc. of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). Member of: Bharatiya Hindu Temple; American Society of Mechanical Engineers; Federation of Indian Associations; Geeta Book Discussion Study Group.

We will greatly miss our beloved Mr. Anup Singh, a husband, brother, father, uncle, and great friend. He was an avid bridge player, a great intellect, an academic at heart, and a truly cultured man. After studying in Russia, he was married on May 23, 1969.

He started his professional life in India as an Organic Chemistry Professor at Jat College; an Engineering Assistant at All India Radio; and an Engineer at Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) in Hardwar, India. He was a man of many firsts: the first to graduate from college and the first to come to the U.S. in his family. He arrived in the United States 46 years ago on May 21, 1973.

In the U.S., he worked as a Professional Engineer with roles at Sargent & Lundy, Ebasco Services, Parsons, and American Electric Power (AEP) settling with his family in Columbus, OH in 1983. He was an inspiration to many of us and an incredibly kind hearted, loving, and gentle soul. May he be with God and rest in peace.
