Obituary for Ardie Dean “Wiyaka Isnala” Janis II Ardie Dean Janis II was born on July 19, 1961 in Pine Ridge, SD to Ardie Janis, Sr. and Roberta (Pretty Bear) Janis. Ardie made his journey to the Spirit World on January 31, 2019 at the Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD. Ardie is survived by his children, Nadine Janis, Ardie Janis, III, Robert Rendon, Chanda Rendon, Aspen Rendon, and January Rendon all of Rapid City, SD; sister, Arlis Lynn (Janis) Pourier of Kyle, SD; brothers, Duane Janis and Myron Janis all of Kyle, SD; aunts, Lenora Watters and Anita “Penny” Janis, uncle, Tom Allen; and all his grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

Ardie was preceded in death by his parents, Ardie Janis, Sr. and Roberta Pretty Bear; grandparents, Leroy “Roy” Janis and Josephine (Palmier) Janis; uncles, Wilbert Janis, Gilbert Janis, Donald Janis, Gerald Janis, and Leroy “Sunshine” Janis; aunts, Marion Gray, Marge Sierra, Geraldine Janis, and Aqualynne Garnette. Pallbearers will be Roger White Eyes, Randy Emery, Rick Emery, Dean Two Crow, Brendon Janis, David McBride, and Tanner Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be, Little Wound School 1979 Graduates, University of Colorado Boulder Gang, Rapid City Regional Hospital Dr.’s and Nurses; Mike Bissonette, Pat Kieffe, Elwin Brave Heart, Elwin Broken Rope, Doug Ferguson, Ralph Gutierrez, Dennis Gutierrez, Joey Shangreaux, George McBride, Ross Janis, Philip Pucket, Jr., Taylor Janis, Robin Janis, Theresa Halsey, Sydney Gates, Sandra Byrd, Lymen Brenner, and All Friends & Relatives.

Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Little Wound School Gymnasium in Kyle, SD with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM at the gym.
